Terms & Conditions

Yorkshire Rose Academy of Dance (YRAD) is a Dance School delivering a range of high quality classes from Pre-School right through to Advanced Vocational levels.

Our classes are run by professionally trained and qualified dance teachers who have valid DBS checks and are First Aid trained.

Section 1 - Registration and Fee's

YRAD's classes run 36 weeks out of 52 per year. To make payments easier and more manageable for parents all of our classes operate via a subscription payment system with the cost being spread equally over 12 months. This means that fees are payable every month, including when no classes are taking place.

Subscriptions are requested on the 1st of every month. Customers who begin lessons before the 1st of the next month will be subject to a 'Covering Payment' which will be pro-rated and added to your first months bill. The following month will revert to the normal price - an email will follow your booking, confirming this information.

Refunds cannot be made for children missing classes. Where possible, missed classes can be made up by attending another class at the same level.

Section 2 - Class / Subscription Cancellation

A notice period of 1 full calendar month is applicable to all subscription bookings. This means that notice to stop will have been received in writing by the 1st of the previous month in order to stop payments for the 1st of the next month. We also politely ask that further written notice is given by the half term break to stop at the end of term in order for us to schedule timetable alterations as necessary.

If you cancel your subscription over any end of term holidays and then choose to re-join you will be subject to paying a new higher rate subscription plan to cover the cost of the payments missed. Your plan will then reduce back down once the outstanding amount has been paid.

Please make sure you are happy with all details in these Terms and Conditions before making payment, as due to fixed costs Yorkshire Rose Academy of Dance is unable to offer refunds.

Section 3 - Class Conduct

  1. Correct uniform and hair as per the guidelines must be adhered to. For uniform information please go to www.yrad.co.uk/uniform.
  2. Bring a water bottle (our classes are energetic).
  3. Students are expected to demonstrate respectful behaviour towards their teachers and fellow students.
  4. Students are not permitted to eat / chew gum whilst in class.
  5. Jewellery should not be worn to class. Stud earrings are permitted.
  6. Students are responsible for their own property and bring items at their own risk.
  7. All belongings and dance attire should be clearly named and pupils are advised not to bring anything of value to the school. Named dance bags are advised.

  9. Students are not permitted to leave the studio during a class without permission from the class teacher.
  10. Students are expected to attend class every week. If a child is injured they should come and observe the class / do what they can (there are still many learning opportunities in these situations and the teachers will ensure they stay involved). If a child is very ill and contagious they should stay at home.

Section 4 - Responsibilities

  1. No child should be left unattended prior to the starting time of the class, unless by arrangement with the teacher.
  2. Parents / Guardians are asked to leave the premises or wait in the area provided for them, and not in their classroom as this can cause distraction. There will be a 'watching week' where you will be invited to see your child dance and take photographs at the end of each term. (If your child is in the pre-school class then you may be permitted to watch the first class only at the teacher's discretion)
  3. If anyone other than yourself is collecting your child please let the teacher know and ensure a mobile number is provided for them.
  4. If as the Parent / Guardian you make the decision that your child is responsible for their own safety and wellbeing including arriving at, and leaving the classes and premises unaccompanied you must have said so on registering. Should you change your mind at any point please advise the teacher and the Principal so that we can update the records.
  5. It is the Parents / Guardians responsibility to update any contact details (especially email addresses / emergency contact info) and student medical conditions from the parent dashboard.

Section 5 - Miscellaneous

  1. Timetable's are subject to change.
  2. A certain amount of risk is involved by taking part in any physical activity. Students taking part in any classes or events run by Yorkshire Rose Academy of Dance do so at their own risk.
  3. Photographs and videos of students may be taken and used for promotion and on social media by Yorkshire Rose Academy of Dance. We will never disclose names of students unless we have the parent / guardians permission to do so which we will ask for in advance of posting.

Section 6 - Further Information

Due to the nature of dance, it is often necessary for the teacher to use physical contact when training young dancers and performers. Without this physical guidance pupils may never gain the correct posture and understanding of certain technical requirements. For further info visit our 'Policies' page on the school website.

Yorkshire Rose Academy of Dance, the organisation providing the facilities and employees are not under any liability in respect of personal injury, loss or damage however caused whilst attending the school.

For all other matters, or if you wish to discuss the above please contact the Principal.
